Unbelievably Easy Yoga Routines

Everyone can benefit from easy yoga routines; no matter what your physical condition, there are poses you can use. You do not have to bend and contort your body into pretzel-like shapes to experience the healthy effects of yoga. Whether you are new to yoga, older, or have physical challenges, you can find an easy yoga routine that fits your needs.

To get started, the first thing you need is a comfortable place to sit. Ideally this will be on a yoga mat, but any type of cushion will do just fine. It is not even necessary to sit on the floor. Many of the bends and stretches can be performed while sitting in a chair. The point is to be comfortable. As you sit, relax and empty your mind. Take deep, gentle breaths. Exercises should always be performed in a gentle manner. Throughout the routine, breathing should remain deep and regular; you should never be out of breath.

Ideally easy yoga routines should exercise all parts of your body. Stretching nourishes the body with oxygenated blood, so it is important to stretch as much of yourself as you can. There are parts of your body you might not consider exercising, but yoga has exercises for them. Your face is one example: There are poses specifically designed for your eyes, nose, and mouth! The point is to be creative and get the blood flowing wherever possible.

If you’re able to exercise on the floor then there are some simple beginner’s moves you can do. If possible, you should alternate between stretching in one direction and it’s opposite. A forward bend should be followed by a backward bend: this helps keep the muscles limber and supple. Never force a pose, yoga should come naturally: overexertion can cause injury. Indeed over exertion can be an obstacle making it difficult to perform properly. Your mind is another key element: As you begin to stretch, tell yourself to relax. Continue breathing calmly and deeply bringing yourself to ever-deeper levels of relaxation. You may be surprised at just how limber you are.

Easy yoga is limited only by your imagination. If you are able to practice under a trained instructor, that would be ideal, but many excellent websites and books are also available to help you along. On the internet are numerous videos that are ideal places to start. Yoga is about a lifestyle change: If you can sit, then you have the power to change your life through yoga.
