Daily Yoga Routine with Pictures

If you have been using yoga as a tool for weight loss, then you must have some idea that tracking your progress is a surefire way to get success. Having an awareness of your body, what calories you’ve consumed, and what exercises you’ve completed is an excellent step towards reaching your weight loss goals. If you’re already tracking your calories, that’s great. But why not push yourself one extra step? Try completing your daily yoga routine with pictures. That’s right. Take pictures of yourself in your favorite asanas day after day to see what kind of progress you’re making. Not only will this give you an honest depiction of what your body looks like, it will also make you a better yogi. Read on to see if this weight loss measure might be effective for you.

When completing your daily yoga routine with pictures, be sure to wear tight-fitting clothing. Be unabashedly honest with yourself (you want the truth, right?). For men: wear shorts and nothing else (preferably a bit on the shorter side like the length of swim trunks). For women, wear a sports bra and tight-fitting shorts, or even underwear. Remember, you’re the only one who has to see these pictures.

Before starting your daily yoga routine with pictures, you’ll have to set up your camera. Unless you have someone willing to take pictures of you (or that you don’t mind them taking your picture) you will need to set up a tripod or stable place and set your camera to automatic. This can be done easily on most cameras and is even a feature of the iPhone if you want to keep it simple.

Try to take pictures of yourself in a variety of poses: take a photo during a standing sun salutation and during a seated spinal twist while lying on your back. Getting a full range of shots will give you a full range of your body and what it looks like.

It’s up to you how often you’d like to take pictures. If you want to take pictures daily, just remember to ease up on yourself. Little weight loss can be observed in one day. However, if you want to take pictures after a week, two weeks, or a month, you should definitely see progress. That is, if you’ve been following your daily exercise plan and diet.

The whole point of trying something like this is to further understand your relationship with yourself. Don’t be too hard on yourself if you don’t like what you see. Remember, it’s only up to you to change it so just stay motivated and believe that you can. When you try this daily yoga routine with pictures, you get to be two different things at once: a yoga instructor and a weight loss coach!
